Terms of service
These terms cover the catu Mac app and the sharing service at catu.app, provided by YDESIGN SYSTEMS LTD EOOD, Bulgaria (“we”). By using them you agree to these terms.
The app
The Mac app is yours to use on Macs you own or control. It keeps your data on your Mac, as described in the privacy policy. We may release updates that add, change or remove features.
Your account
Sharing needs an account, created by signing in with Apple, Google or an email code. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in methods safe. Two-step verification is available in Settings and recommended. One account per person; you must be 16 or older.
What you share
You keep all rights to what you capture and share. You give us the permission needed to store it and show it to the people you share it with, and nothing more. You are responsible for your content: share only what you have the right to share, and respect other people’s privacy when you record a screen that shows them or their messages.
Not allowed: content that is illegal, that infringes someone’s rights, that is sexual content involving minors, that harasses or threatens people, malware, or anything used to deceive or defraud. We may remove such content and close the account, and we respond to lawful requests from authorities.
Links, storage and limits
A link opens the clip for anyone who has it, unless you set a password. You can set an expiry, change the password or delete a clip at any time; deleting breaks the link at once. The Mac app is free. Sharing is part of the Web app plan: 100 GB of storage and links that can expire or never. Clips shared earlier stay viewable and deletable without the plan. We may change limits with notice.
Web app plan subscription
The Web app plan is a paid subscription, monthly or yearly, with a free trial of 14 days for a first subscription (a card is taken at the start and billed when the trial ends, unless you cancel before), billed in advance through Stripe, which acts as the seller of record and handles payment, invoices and applicable taxes. The price is shown before you pay; tax is added where it applies. You can cancel at any time from Settings; the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and the subscription does not renew after that. If a payment fails, Stripe retries for a few days and then the account returns to Free; your clips and links stay, but new uploads are refused until you subscribe again. As a consumer in the EU you have a 14-day right of withdrawal; because the plan starts immediately at your request, a refund for a period already started is at our discretion. Write to us and we will be fair.
Comments
People you share with, including guests who only give a name, can comment where you allow it. You can remove any comment on your clips and block guests. The rules above apply to comments too.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running, but it is provided “as is”, without guarantees of availability or fitness for a particular purpose. We may change or discontinue parts of it; if we discontinue sharing altogether we will give at least 30 days’ notice and a way to download your clips.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for anything arising from the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (for a free account, nothing). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Ending
You can stop using catu at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Clauses that by their nature should survive (content rules, liability, governing law) continue to apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria. Consumers in the European Union also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of their own country, and may use the EU’s online dispute resolution platform.
